PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Only if he knows you well.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Sure! He gets into fights all the time.

ROMANCE/FLIRTING: He's very gay and is really only attracted to other wolves, but I'm all for some confused flirting by people who think he's actually human.

SEXUAL CONTENT: Not likely to crop up but sure.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES: Let's talk about this first if anyone's trying to read his mind so I can give an idea as to what they'll find there.

MAGIC/POWERS: The detailed answers can be found in his app but the long and the short of it is that Tsume is a wolf that can cloak himself in an illusion that makes him appear human. If your character wouldn't be fooled by this for any reason, just let me know!

MEDICAL INFORMATION: Healthy considering all the times he's been shot up, with an X-shaped scar on his chest and apparently he's covered in a lot more.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: Taxidermy. Seriously, he's horrified when he comes across stuffed wolves in the series. Also the hunting of wolves.

BACKTAGGING: I am a chronic backtagger and am happy to keep a thread going as long as I'm getting regular tags. If I'm only getting one tag a month on a thread, I'll likely drop it because it's taking too long and my motivation for it will be gone.

FOURTH WALLING: Good to go on this! I figure what's a few more issues for him to work out?

CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: Eye trauma and explicit mention of suicide (i.e. a character commits suicide in the thread.)

Original Deerington Application

• Link to Accepted Deerington Application: Here.
• Additional Adjustments to include: In canon, Tsume is initially cold and aloof towards the ersatz pack that gets formed out of five wolves. He's snarky and rude to them, condescending, and generally unpleasant to be around. It's later revealed this is a desire not to get hurt again, for his last pack was all massacred and the survivors cast Tsume out for being a coward. But soon, through the persistence of his packmates Kiba, Hige, and Toboe, Tsume begins to open up to them. While he's still a bit gruff, he begins to protect them and honestly believe in their goal of reaching Paradise. There are several moments where he puts his pack ahead of his own desires, something he never could have done at the beginning of the series. When the wolfdog Blue joins the pack, he's able to accept her with only a small grudge held for the fact she'd hunted him and the other wolves in the past.

On the other hand, Tsume has had no good experiences with humans. A Noble named Jaguara, one of the humans that rule the entire wasteland, sent her troops out to annihilate all wolves. As a young wolf less than a year old, Tsume was traumatized and saw humans as nothing more than cold, cruel murderers. Running around with a group of humans around his own age didn't improve their standing in his eyes, for he saw how quickly they would turn on each other to save their own skin. Encountering hunters and soldiers in his pack's quest for Paradise only added to his mistrust of them. While some of his pack have had positive experiences with humans, Tsume still sees them as being scum, lower than wolves and even dogs in his eyes.

Tsume was only in Deerington for a few months before the dream ended. Still, he did grow in small ways. He learned to, if not outright cohabitate with human beings, then to at least tolerate them. He even used the safe houses that had been designed for the Sleepers when he was forced to take cover from monsters in town, which gave him a chance to safely interact with the humans without feeling it would endanger his life. To say he likes any humans now would be pushing it but he at least can be in the room now without either feeling threatened by them or feeling like he should just contemptuously ignore them. This became most evident in his interactions with some of the teenagers in town like Bella and Peter. Being (mentally) around their own age allowed him to let down some of his walls, even though he occasionally treated them less than kindly.

The presence of werewolves in town also allowed Tsume to experience human beings who could turn into wolves, the opposite of what he is. He took a shine to couple of them like Robyn and Jojen immensely, seeing them as closer to being what he is than anything else in town, and seeing it his duty to show them how to be proper wolves. This was especially evident since Tsume was lacking a pack and specifically looking for that same connection he had with his back in his home world.

Just a slight update for Tsume as he and his pack have left Jaguara's Keep and are traveling with the humans still towards where Paradise is at. This doesn't change too much about what's going on with him, it just gives him back a sense of purpose as to what he's working towards.

Deer Country Attributes

• Canon Powers: Illusion powers mostly, explained on his original app.
• Blood Type: Paleblood
• Omen: A Dusk Lycanroc Tsume honestly wouldn't trust an Omen that didn't resemble him in some way, so it'd have to look like a wolf of some kind. The Lycanroc is a wolf-like Pokemon that also has three forms: Midday, Midnight, and Dusk form. Each of the different forms has a different personality and the Dusk form resembles Tsume's most closely. To quote from the Bulbapedia: "The Dusk Form Lycanroc shares traits from the previous two forms. Its stance, calm demeanor, and loyal nature are shared with the Midday Form. However, it also shares the Midnight Form's fighting spirit, including the red, glowing eyes at the moment of attack. Due to only evolving at sunset, the Dusk Form is considered the rarest of the three forms. The Dusk Form of Lycanroc is rather difficult to train due to its temperamental nature." His name is Elatha and he doesn't talk much, preferring to let his body language reveal what he's thinking.
• Blessed Day: May 15th
• Patron Pthumerian: Bausphomette. Beyond the physical aspect of Baus appealing to Tsume in the form of a wolf Pthumerian, the idea of being true to oneself appeals greatly to the wolf's personality. Despite walking among humans, blending in with them with his power of illusion, he's never sought to be one or to even truly get along with them. He's always stayed as he truly is: a wild animal, not tamed or gentle, but vicious and independent. While Tsume stays true to himself, this doesn't mean his personality is static. He often takes opportunities to learn and grow, becoming a better person, or at the very least a different one. The personality he has when the series starts and the one he has when it ends are very different from one another. He learns to change for good from the experiences he goes through.
• Blood Power Manifestation: Tsume's blood power will unfold in the form of prophetic visions and the ability to walk through dreams. They will wax and wane with the moon, being the strongest when it is the full moon and weak to the point of being nonexistent during the new moon. The prophetic visions will often show him several different ways a scenario might unfold and Tsume will have to figure out which one is real. It will become clearer when he or the people in the visions make a definitive decision. Walking through dreams will be more straightforward and allow him to access people both during their good, bad, and nonsensical dreams.

History: Here!

Personality: At first, Tsume is your stereotypical lone wolf. First and foremost, he tries to push everyone away. He feels that the only way he can keep from getting hurt is by keeping everyone at arm's length. He's often lonely, but he feels this is better than opening his heart, and possibly ending up with it broken. He says it plainly in an early episode that he doesn't trust anyone and that means no one has to trust him. But to quote another series, "The lone wolf dies but the pack survives." Part of staying away from anyone else means that he simply finds he can't relate to human beings very well. Once he ends up surrounded by more fellow wolves, he reluctantly comes to rely on them for friendship, guidance, and trust. At the point he's being taken from, he's come to realize the power of having those around he can be loyal to.

On that note, Tsume's loyalty is not easily gained. It takes a lot of time for him to see his fellow wolves as his pack and he ends up fighting with them more often than not in the early episodes, but once he does soften up and starts caring for them, he will do whatever he can to protect them. For those younger or weaker than he is, like Toboe and Cheza, he shows a soft spot, willing to do whatever he can to make sure they're alright. When he meets both of them, Tsume feels suspicion and anger towards them, an armor he wears to make sure he doesn't get too close to them. But it doesn't last for long in either case.

With Toboe, he starts off viewing him as a weak little runt but after several adventures together comes to realize he's got a true friend in the pup, and comes to view him with feeling of love, though whether they're platonic or romantic is left up to the viewer. With Cheza, given she's a Flower Maiden and the wolves are attracted to her right away, he already sees her as someone who needs protection despite the initial rocky start where he calls her 'it' and sneers she's just a creation of the Nobles. Though he tries to maintain a gruff facade, next to Kiba, he's the wolf most seen jumping to her defense or trying to protect her once he feels he can trust her. Her kindness towards him also doesn't go unnoticed by him, such as when he falls asleep to her lullaby and sleeps so soundly by her side he's the last wolf to wake up, though he tries to play off any relaxation that gave him.

This doesn't extend to almost all humans, and despite running a whole gang of them in the early episodes, he's one of the wolves shown interacting the least with people. Having grown up raised by his pack rather than people as the other four are shown to have done, he views people with suspicion and contempt. Just as humans see wolves as something alien and strange, he sees people in the same light. Even later on, when several people join them on their journey to Paradise, Tsume hardly talks to them or interacts with them at all. He doesn't show any hatred or malice towards them, he just sees humans as not worth bothering with unless they have something to offer him.

Tsume is a born cynic and is definitely the most disbelieving of the wolves when it comes to Paradise. Where Kiba is a blind zealot, Tsume questions this belief at every turn, always the one to ask why they're heading towards a place that might not even exist. He tells Kiba in an early episode that they'll just die out there if they look for it, but Kiba responds if you don't have anything to live for, you might as well be dead inside already. As their journey continues, Tsume comes to realize heading for Paradise is far better than any alternative, given that the other wolves they meet along their journey have given up all hope and pride in themselves. Eventually, when he lays dying, he reveals the true reason for his cynicism: he'd always known he wasn't the "Chosen One", the wolf destined to open Paradise. This is why he'd lived the way he did, pushing people away and choosing not to believe in the journey the wolves were undertaking.

Tsume also is very sarcastic. He always has a smartass or sharp comment ready at every turn. Usually, it's at the expense of someone else, so that he further distance himself by making fun of them, and therefore not having to care about them. A prime example is when the wolves are hungry, so he suggests eating the others one by one, starting with either the weak little runt of the four members of the pack, or maybe the fattest one instead. He clearly does this just to get a rise out of the others and piss them off. It generally works best on Hige and they continue to butt heads quite a bit throughout the series, though even Kiba isn't shown to to be immune to the occasional jab.

But beneath the gruff, sarcastic surface, Tsume actually feels things very deeply, and can be quite emotional. He holds onto things for a long time, such as considering himself a coward for running away when his first pack was attacked by wolf hunters, earning him the scar on his chest and exile from the surviving members of the pack. This is long after he's proven in the present that he has the ability to be brave. Losing one of his packmates at the end of the series emotionally devastates to the point where he starts crying, something he's shown at no other point doing, and when Hige asks him to mercy kill him, he's shown to be extremely shook up by the act.

Lastly, Tsume holds other people to as high a standard as he does, and if they wrong him, he doesn't easily forgive. He can hold a grudge like no other. Blue hunts him when she still considered herself a dog and he's the least forgiving when she joins the pack, reminding everyone else of the fact she'd tried to kill almost all of them before. When she begins to show that she's left her wolf-hunting ways behind her for good, Tsume begins to finally accept her as a member of the pack. Even though he was brainwashed at the time, he still is the most angry with and refuses to let go of the fact Hige unknowingly betrayed them all, though this eventually starts to fade away once he realizes that Hige is obsessed with making things right even unto the point of dying himself. So while he will stay angry with someone, if they try to balance the scales out with him again, he can find it in himself to forgive them.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: -Human illusion: The greatest power that wolves possess is the ability to project the illusion of a human being. The illusion resembles a human being entirely except for scent, and while it does age as the wolf ages, the clothing they seem to wear never changes. Since this is only an illusion, physical signs and limitations still remain. Any injuries sustained in their wolf form reflect on their human illusion. Paw prints remain in the ground, shadows and reflections in mirrors show a wolf rather than an animal, and any attempt made by Tsume to touch someone results in them feeling teeth rather than a hand. It is shown at certain points that certain parts of the wolf bleed through the illusion when the wolf is feeling emotional, as Tsume is shown at several points in the series to be possessing sharp, wolf-like teeth when upset or distressed rather than his human ones.

All animals and certain people can see through this, usually those who have put their minds into another state. Those who have consumed enough alcohol, those who have a mental illness which affects the way they perceive things like dementia, and people who have gotten a physical brain injury like a concussion. It is also shown Jaguara's soldiers have a special visor that allows them to see through the wolf illusion, though it's unclear what makes this piece of equipment special. It's shown that people specifically looking for wolves have a greater chance of being able to see through the illusion, but this requires a great deal of concentration, and doesn't always work.

-Communication: The wolves in the show are shown to have a form of one-way projected telepathy to communicate with humans and other animals. They can use it even if their mouth is physically occupied.

-Animal communication: Building off the above, it's shown that they can communicate with all animals in the show, including ravens, owls, horses, dogs, and cats.

-Moon powers: The wolves are linked closely to the moon and have some abilities connected to them. They have an almost innate sense of finding lunar flowers, able to scent them even secondhand off a human being. They also can use the moon's light to keep themselves from getting hungry, able to do this for up to a month if they bask every night, and it does seem being in the light of it helps to heal their injuries faster. When it come to lunar flowers and the Flower Maiden, they can fall asleep when listening to Cheza's song and can have their pain alleviated by her touch.

- The abilities of the wolves on the show are shown to be far beyond that which normal wolves in the real world would be able to achieve, so it's fair to say they're "super wolves" even accounting for things like anime physics. They can jump far higher and farther than regular wolves and with a level of physicality Spider-Man would be proud of, are tough enough to survive bullet injuries that would kill a normal animal, with the epitome being when one of them literally gets impaled with a sword so hard he was pinned to the floor and manage to survive (though that one did prove to be a crippling injury that never healed right). Even the smallest wolf manages to kill a walrus the size of a sixteen-wheeler just through sheer determination and refusing to give up or let go when the walrus was ramming itself through ice sheets and dragging hm underwater.

- Each of the wolves in the series is shown to have a special physical talent. Kiba has the strongest jaws and bite, Toboe has the best hearing, Hige has the best sense of smell. Tsume's is his speed, for he's the fastest wolf, and has better stamina than almost anyone besides Kiba.

GETTING HEALTHY

Tsume sat there lounging casually on the couch in his human form, looking as if he was completely indifferent to the entire situation. Indeed, he seemed almost bored with the whole proceedings. He folded his arms behind his head, waiting for the therapist to ask the next question. "Why don't we talk again about your friends?"

"They aren't friends," Tsume corrected. "They're pack." A wolf's definition of the term was different than that of a human's. For wolves, the pack was something that was a cross between family, friends, and the rankings found in an army. It was complicated and couldn't be summed up in just a few words. Not that Tsume was going to try and explain the definition. This woman was a human and humans just wouldn't get it.

"Fine, pack then." She gave that same mild smile she'd worn this entire time. "Why don't we talk about them for a bit?"

"Well, I don't feel like it," Tsume said with a petulant tone. The last thing he wanted to be reminded of was that he was separated from those he cared about the most. "So I guess we're just going to sit here and stare at each other instead."

After a long beat, she spoke again. "Perhaps a change of subject matter might be best," the therapist said, scribbling down notes. "Where did you get the scar on your chest?"

His golden eyes suddenly became hard and wary. "I don't want to talk about it," he snapped out. His posture had changed and now he seemed completely closed off. He shifted position, bringing his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around them.

"Are you sure you don't--"

"Ask me something else!" He snapped out angrily. It appeared this was definitely not going to be the session where he opened up.

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND BREATHE

Tsume was a wild animal. Animals weren't supposed to have many fears. Sure, there was the idea that each day could be your last, but death had never scared him. Everything died eventually, that was a part of life. There was the idea that he might not have enough food or shelter, but those were more worries than real fears. What Tsume feared most was loss. He'd already lost one pack in his life and now he was faced with the prospect of losing another.

He'd always wondered if any of them would make it to Paradise. Now, he knew most, if not all of them, wouldn't. Toboe had been the first. The sweetest and most gentle member of the pack, the young wolf that had gotten Tsume to open up his heart, he was dead in the snow, wrapped in the arms of a wolf hunter who had repented in the last moments of his life. The worst part was Tsume hadn't even been there at the end. All he could do was say goodbye to his body. He cried over him, wondering why the world had to be such a cruel place as to take such an innocent soul out of it.

By the time he caught up with the rest, the man Hubb was dead as well, Tsume having seen him fall from the cliff. One of the last humans in the world was no more. Blue was already gone and Hige dying beside her by inches from injuries that had proved to be more than fatal. This one was even worst than the first, for his packmate had begged him to end his suffering. Tsume had to kill one of the people he had come to care about most in the world.

Now, he wondered what he would encounter next. How many more did he have to lose? A heart could only take so much before it gave out. But Tsume somehow knew things were coming to an end. His own couldn't be that far off. At this point, having lost so much, he practically welcome it.
